A National Moment of Remembrance
People sometimes think that those of us who fight for Peace are against soldiers. Nothing could be further from the truth. They are the reason we believe that there is a better way. They fought for us... Now it's our turn to fight for their lives. These men and women stood by their country and paid the ultimate price. They were needed and they didn't turn away. Brave, precious souls who are our brothers and sisters. I give them my gratitude and respect... And, my sorrow.

If only we could learn to live in peace. We're trying... And if our efforts fail, we will try again. We teach understanding, compassion, acceptance. We teach that we are all connected. We encourage sharing with our brothers and asking them how we can help. We teach that there is one God, no matter the name by which He is called... If there is a love based spiritual path, that someone is committed to following, then that needs to be respected. There are many paths to God... Arguing or waging war over who God is, is not one of those paths.
Memorial Day, which falls on the last Monday of May, commemorates the men and women who died while serving in the American military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971

And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country
can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.

I met Chuck Williams several years ago on MySpace. He wrote such a powerful song about Viet Nam and the draft... It inspired me to make one of my first videos. I remember how hard it was to search for images and create them to portray his message. It hurt to feel just a fraction of what he must have felt as he told his own personal story with, "On The Line." http://www.chuckwilliamsmusic.com/
Upon it's completion, the video was submitted to Neil Young's website, Living With War Today. It rapidly climbed into the top ten. The video has managed to go in and out of the top ten for over five years now.
It's always somewhere on the Video Page.
HOPE is important. This song, is another from a MySpace friend, Kevin Reed. He wrote this song, "America's Heart," and Tommy Fields does the vocal. It's one of the most positive songs of hope for America that I've ever heard. It inspired me to do this video.
